Woodend Cemetery – caring for local communities of the Macedon Ranges since 1861.
Welcome to Woodend Cemetery
Woodend was first surveyed in 1836 by Major Thomas Mitchell, who opened the area up for settlement.
On 18 March 1861 a 6-acre site was set aside as a general Cemetery for the town of Woodend.
The original Trustees of the Cemetery were appointed on 3 April 1861, with a Plot Register commencing in 1862. This register contained details of who reserved plots and where they are located in the Cemetery.
